A million more homes, on land Australia already has
Australia has 7.6 million houses on their own blocks. One in seven has room for a second home. That is a million homes, with no new suburb, no new highway and no new pipe in the ground.

Nobody is coming to fix this for us
Not a developer, not a department, not a factory overseas. The land is here. The makers are here. The builders are here. What is missing is a straight answer: what fits on my block, what it costs installed, and who will build it.
That is what this site is for.
Notoriously small is not a joke. Small is how a million homes get done: one backyard at a time, by everyday people, with the rules in plain sight and nobody paying to rank.
Infill. Do more with less. Live closer. Build again.
The site today
523 homes · 74 makers · 77 councils, rules sourced and dated · 882 homes for sale, measured for a second home · prices checked 15 Oct 2026
Counted from the data when this page was built, not typed. Every figure on the site carries the page it was read from and the date.
The number
The 2021 Census counted 10.85 million private dwellings. Seven in ten are separate houses: about 7.6 million homes standing on their own land.
- A second home on one block in seven is a million homes.
- No new suburb, no new road, no new sewer main. The services already run past the gate.
- Parents close by. A first home for the kids. Rent that pays the mortgage. A place to work from.

What the site does about it
- The block check reads your lot from the council and state maps: zone, size, flood, bushfire, sewer, and the biggest second home allowed. Free, in a minute.
- Every home from every maker, priced installed on your block, not ex factory. Each price is the maker's own, linked to the page it was read from, with the date.
- The rules, council by council, sourced to the council's own pages and dated. Councils that make their rules clear get credit here.
- Licensed builders who install, listed in name order, and one request that reaches the ones who work in your area.
- Guides to the costs, the contracts and the money, every fact sourced.
The rules it runs by
- Every number sourced. A price, a rule or a size without a link and a date does not go on the site.
- Nobody pays to rank. Homes sort by price, builders by name. How we keep it fair.
- Small is the point. The homes here are the ones that fit in a backyard.
- Built by builders. The site is run by a licensed Queensland builder, listed on the same terms as every other.
- We fix our own problems. South East Queensland first, done properly, then the next region.
