Who they are
The Good Tiny Home Co. sells expandable container tiny homes from a display at John Street, Woombye, on the Sunshine Coast. The trading name is held by Sunshine Coast Security Cameras Pty Ltd, registered in November 2023, and it holds no QBCC licence. Where the units are made is not published.
What they make
Folding 20 ft container units that open out on site to about 36 to 40 m², with kitchen and bathroom fitted. Layouts are studio, open plan, one or two bedroom, on acrow props or a registrable triple-axle trailer. Walls are rock wool sandwich panels on a galvanised steel frame, with double glazing.
What the price covers
Listed prices run from $32,990 to $49,990, GST included, with delivery and set-up included between Brisbane and Gympie. Power and water connections, hot water, most air conditioning and council certification are extra. Class 1a certification is quoted from $10,000 on top.
Installing one in Queensland
The company delivers by tilt tray and sets the unit on acrow props, or supplies it on a trailer with a VIN. Licensed electricians and plumbers connect it. The units are sold as moveable dwellings; for Class 1a approval you engage a building surveyor, and fixing it down as a dwelling would need a licensed builder.
Who it suits
SEQ buyers wanting a low-cost studio or guest unit delivered and set up, who accept it is a moveable dwelling unless they pay for certification.
Worth checking
Budget at least $10,000 more if you need Class 1a approval. Confirm the contracting company and where the units are made.
