Who they are
Saltair is a Sunshine Coast modular builder, founded in 2013 and bought in 2019 by civil engineer Steve Bridger. It builds in its own factories at Coolum Beach and Crestmead in Brisbane, holds an open QBCC builder licence, and also does commercial, education and social housing work, including 36 homes for QBuild in Bundaberg. It has a display home beside its Coolum office.
What they make
Steel-framed modular homes with high raked ceilings, from the 29.8 m² Cardrona 111 to multi-module family homes. Several designs between about 38 m² and 62 m² are aimed at granny flats and secondary dwellings, such as the Hunter, Keppel, Yandina and K'gari.
What the price covers
No prices are published; each design is priced on request. Factory Complete covers the finished home out of the factory. Turnkey adds approvals, footing design and footings, delivery within 50 km of a factory, the crane, connections, final certification and QBCC home warranty insurance.
Installing one in Queensland
On Turnkey, Saltair does it all under its own QBCC licence: approval through an independent certifier, footings and stumps, truck delivery, a 60-tonne crane lift and service connections, through to the Form 21. On Factory Complete, you or your own licensed builder handle the site, approvals, install and home warranty.
Who it suits
Buyers who want one licensed builder responsible from approval to handover, or owners with their own builder who want a factory-finished home.
Worth checking
There are no published prices and no Class 1a wording on the design pages, so get a fixed-price quote and the package inclusions in writing.
