Who they are
Portabl Tiny Homes sells fold-out expandable tiny homes from a showroom at 162 Siganto Drive, Helensvale, on the Gold Coast, viewings by appointment. It was founded by Lisa Kuhne, and Portabl Pty Ltd has been registered since October 2024. Where the units are made is not published.
What they make
The Levisha, a fold-out unit about 37 m² in its 20 ft form, arrives with kitchen and bathroom fitted; a 40 ft three-bedroom version is also sold. A 36 m² Expander studio shell suits a bedroom, office or cabin. Frames are galvanised steel with magnesium oxide board floors, aluminium and fibreglass sheeting and double glazing.
What the price covers
Listed prices on 15 Oct 2026 were $29,990 for the Expander studio, $33,990 for the Levisha 20ft and $59,990 for the Levisha 40ft, shown as sale prices. A trailer is $11,500 extra and delivery is quoted separately. The site does not say whether prices include GST, and its FAQ still quotes a starting price of $22,990 that matches no current listing.
Installing one in Queensland
The Levisha is sold to sit on an ADR-approved trailer as a registrable caravan, not as a Class 1a building. It plugs into 240V power by a caravan-style lead and into water by hose. Using it as a permanent home on your block needs council advice, and fixing it down as a dwelling would need a licensed builder and a building approval.
Who it suits
Buyers wanting a low-cost fold-out unit for a studio, guest room or caravan-style stay, who accept it is not a Class 1a home.
Worth checking
Not a Class 1a building and the company is new. Ask where it is made, whether prices include GST, and for the warranty in writing; the 3-year structural figure comes from a 2024 brochure.
