Who they are
iBuild Building Solutions is a Victorian kit home supplier trading since 2014, with a factory at Heidelberg West and an office at Mulgrave. Its business awards are for exporting and growth rather than housing. It sells kits for owner-builders and licensed builders across Australia.
What they make
Kit homes and granny flats from about 18 m² to over 60 m² enclosed, plus larger family homes, with prefabricated steel wall frames and trusses and fibre cement weatherboard cladding. Designs come in several styles at the same price, and it also sells TransPack and InstantSlide modular units.
What the price covers
Kit prices run from $31,580 for the Yass to $91,070 for the Kingaroy, each 'from' and plus assembly. The kit is supply to lock-up; slab or footings, assembly, approvals, connections and internal fit-out are extra, and delivery runs $750 to $900 + GST per 100 km.
Installing one in Queensland
Kits are trucked to site in batches, with some materials delivered by Bunnings. You build as an owner-builder or engage a QBCC-licensed builder, and iBuild can refer a partner builder. You lodge approval with a certifier using iBuild's plans and engineering, then licensed trades connect services.
Who it suits
Owner-builders and buyers with their own builder who want a priced kit and a wide choice of designs.
Worth checking
The delivery rate is stated two ways on its site, so get delivery to your town in writing. Other Queensland firms use 'iBuild' in their names, so check the ABN on any contract.
