Sunshine Coast Hinterland, QLDFreestyle Tiny Homes
- Good for: Wider 3 m tiny homes with starting prices published
- Good for: Trying a tiny home stay before buying
Freestyle Tiny Homes builds tiny homes on trailers in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. It was started by Zac, a builder with residential construction experience, and Sabrina, who brings interior design and photography, after the pair spent two years travelling Australia in a caravan Zac built. The range covers the Studio Series in three layouts, the Freedom 9.5 for couples, the road-legal Escape 6.2, and the two-bedroom Family Escape made from two connected modules. Prices for each are published as starting figures. Most homes are 3 metres wide and move by tilt truck, while the 2.4 metre Escape 6.2 can be towed without special permits. Standard inclusions listed on the model pages cover custom cabinetry, a gas cooktop with electric oven, instant gas hot water and a 2.5 kW split system. A Try Before You Buy stay lets buyers spend a few nights in one of the homes before committing, and builds take around 12 weeks.

Who they are
Freestyle Tiny Homes is a Sunshine Coast Hinterland company set up in 2022 by builder Zac and designer Sabrina. The company holds its own QBCC builder licence, and builds its homes in-house, including the steel chassis.
What they make
Tiny homes on trailers: the Studio Series in 6.6 m and 9.5 m lengths, the Freedom 9.5, the 2.4 m wide Escape 6.2 that can be towed, and the two-module Family Escape. Most models are 3 m wide. It also sells towable deck trailers from $17,900.
What the price covers
Published starting prices run from $99,900 for the Studio 6.6 to $179,900 for the Family Escape. The base price covers a fitted bathroom, kitchen, bedroom and living area. Toilets are an option, and tilt truck delivery of the wider models costs extra.
Installing one in Queensland
The 3 m wide models are not legally towable and travel by super tilt truck, which Freestyle coordinates at extra cost. Towable models get free delivery within 50 km. The FAQ says a tiny home on wheels is often treated as a caravan, but a permanent connection to sewer or power needs a licensed trade and may need council approval.
Who it suits
Buyers who want a wider tiny home on wheels from a licensed Sunshine Coast builder, and can use a Try Before You Buy stay to test the size first.
Worth checking
No warranty is published; ask for it in writing. The FAQ says all homes are on road-registered trailers but also that most are not legally towable, so ask how your model will be moved and registered.
No maker pays to be listed or ranked, and every list is sorted by price, never by who pays. This isn't every maker in the market yet: missing one? Say which. Prices and sizes are the makers' own, read from their websites on the date shown, and makers change them: check with the maker before you buy. Installed prices are estimates for an owner builder, inc GST, from the install cost calculator; a licensed builder adds about $10,000. Is a listing yours, or wrong?
