Arcopod Modular Homes

  • Good for: Architect-designed timber modular homes
  • Good for: Gold Coast buyers who want design first

Arcopod builds architecturally designed modular homes, granny flats, cabins and retreats in its factory at Yatala, between Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Its range covers one bedroom flats, two and three bedroom homes, a cabin range and custom projects, so it suits buyers adding a secondary dwelling, holiday-let owners, and families who want a design-led home without a long on-site build. It also takes on multi-unit and holiday park work and can combine factory modules with on-site building. The business grew out of its founder's carpentry background and years building high-end homes in Queensland, which shows in the focus on finish. Homes use a timber frame with engineered flooring, high performance insulation and metal cladding. Arcopod delivers across Queensland and New South Wales, has a Whitsunday display model, and shows a five-star Google rating from 11 reviews on its website. Completed projects range from South Brisbane and Tugun to Tenterfield and the Northern Rivers.

The straight answer

Researched 15 Oct 2026 from Arcopod Modular Homes' own site and the public registers.

Who they are

Arcopod is a modular builder with a factory at Yatala, between Brisbane and the Gold Coast. The Arcopod name has been registered since 2022 to MG Building & Construction Pty Ltd, which holds QBCC builder licence 15207887 (Low Rise). The site says the business grew from its founder's carpentry trade, started nearly 20 years ago.

What they make

The range covers one-bedroom flats from 28 to 40 square metres, two-bedroom homes up to about 15 by 8 metres, and a cabin range. Homes use a timber frame, engineered flooring and metal cladding over a vented cavity. Several designs come in small, medium and large lengths.

What the price covers

Published prices start at $159k for the 35 square metre Verge and $279k for the two-bedroom Waco, though the range page says one-bedroom homes start from $189k build only. Prices are factory prices: the site says transport and installation are not included. Most larger models show no price.

Installing one in Queensland

Arcopod says it manages the process from design to installation, and its licence covers low-rise building work in Queensland. Transport, crane and footings are priced on top of the build. The site says homes can be approved as Class 1a secondary dwellings, with building approval from a private certifier.

Who it suits

Buyers in South East Queensland or northern NSW who want a design-led one or two-bedroom secondary dwelling from a local factory.

Worth checking

Confirm which company signs the contract and that it is the licensed one, MG Building & Construction Pty Ltd. Ask for the installed price in writing, since the two published entry prices disagree and transport and install are extra. No warranty term is published.

No maker pays to be listed or ranked, and every list is sorted by price, never by who pays. This isn't every maker in the market yet: missing one? Say which. Prices and sizes are the makers' own, read from their websites on the date shown, and makers change them: check with the maker before you buy. Installed prices are estimates for an owner builder, inc GST, from the install cost calculator; a licensed builder adds about $10,000. Is a listing yours, or wrong?
