Who they are
Anchor Homes is a family-run modular builder with its factory at Stratford in Gippsland, Victoria, and a second display centre at Bayswater in Melbourne's east. It says it moved into modular homes in 2005 after 25 years as builders and cabinet makers. The trading company is Anchor Construction Group Pty Ltd, ABN active since 2013.
What they make
Full-size transportable homes of two to four bedrooms, from the 74.9 m2 Suburban to the 244 m2 Barwon, across 36 set designs with a choice of facades. Frames and trusses are plantation pine with lightweight cladding and a Colorbond roof. There is no small granny flat range.
What the price covers
Prices are not published on the site; the price list is sent after a form. The base price includes delivery, installation on footings for a near-flat site, a building permit and a full kitchen and bathroom fit-out. Crane hire, site engineering, planning costs, the power connection, decks and bushfire or wind upgrades are extra.
Installing one in Queensland
Anchor delivers and installs only in Victoria and southern New South Wales, and holds no QBCC licence. A Queensland buyer would need Anchor to agree to deliver, plus a QBCC-licensed builder to sign for the footings, set-down and connections and to pay the home warranty premium.
Who it suits
Victorian and southern NSW buyers who want a full-size two to four bedroom home and a display home to walk through. Useful to Queensland buyers mainly as a benchmark for a detailed inclusions list.
Worth checking
Not an option for a Queensland block today. The warranty is described two ways on its own site (7-year on the FAQ, a 10-year structural guarantee on the inclusions page), so get the warranty terms in writing.
